Links for Entrepreneurs, Trailing Spouses, and Other Wonderful People (21)

Here are some inspiring posts for entrepreneurs, trailing spouses, and all you other wonderful people!

Expat Entrepreneurs- My friend Edna has a great series on her blog where she interviews expat entrepreneurs.  For any trailing spouses or would-be entrepreneurs out there, this series can offer some inspiration and some encouragement!

My 10 Year Journey to Becoming a Travel Writer- Speaking of people who are pursuing new careers and new dreams, one of my blogging friends recently wrote this great post about becoming a travel writer.  She hasn’t quit her day job, but she’s happily supplementing it with travel writing.  Again, an inspiring and encouraging post!

10 Travel Websites Worth Bookmarking- This round-up of travel websites is comprehensive and detailed.  My favorite new site is DishTip:  a website where you can search by dish for the restaurant serving the best…whatever…in a specific city or town.  This would have been handy in New Orleans, where our options for crayfish were plentiful, and time was short.

What to Do When Your Chinese Student Calls You Fat- An ESL teacher in China tells the story of her student calling her fat (in front of the entire classroom).  In many Western cultures, being fat is an insult, while in many other cultures, being fat is a sign of success, health, or wealth.  The author’s struggle to integrate Chinese cultural attitudes towards fatness with her own attitude is really interesting to read.
