This week I just wanted to highlight these three articles. They are all a bit more serious than the usual round-up . I hope you enjoy!
Four Kidnapped Aid Workers Rescued- Here’s a sample of what I’ve been reading about in Kenya. There has been a lot of violence here in the past few weeks (a grenade attack in Mombasa, a church-bombing, etc.). Among other events, four foreign aid workers were kidnapped from the Dadaab Refugee Camp, which is in north-eastern Kenya. They were rescued a few days later, and it was nice to read about a happy ending.
Why Women Still Can’t Have It All- Here’s how The Atlantic summarizes this article: “It’s time to stop fooling ourselves, says a woman who left a position of power: the women who have managed to be both mothers and top professionals are superhuman, rich, or self-employed. If we truly believe in equal opportunity for all women, here’s what has to change.” Written by the Dean of Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, this article has been the source of some controversy
How to Haven Insanely Demanding Job and Two Happy Children- One woman writes back to the article above (“Why Women Still Can’t Have It All”).

I’m behind on m y reading, but I can’t wait to read the articles from The Atlantic! Thanks for sharing!
Just beware– the first article is really long! I had a headache from scrolling through all those pages, but it was worth it.
