Great links for bakers, students, and home owners:

New Studies Link Study Abroad to On-Time Graduation- I’m a big proponent of study abroad, probably because I had such a great time in South Africa and Ghana during my junior year of college.  This article reports on several university studies that link study abroad to on-time graduation, giving students (and parents) one more reason to consider the option.

Should You Become a Landlord Instead of Selling Your Home? – This detailed article covers all the advantages and pitfalls of renting your house to strangers.  It also has handy tips for people who plan to rent out their house.

10 No-Bake Desserts – Our “furnished” apartment in Nairobi lacks many kitchen tools.  Between that and the challenge of baking at a high altitude, I haven’t been baking as much as I used to.  But I’m still craving dessert, and this article, which includes mouth-watering photos of each recipe, is a great resource.  I can’t wait to try the chocolate coconut macaroons.

Totally Sweet Cupcake Liner Crafts- I am still in awe at some of the crafts these people made with cupcake liners.  I tend to just use cupcake liners to line my muffin tins, but clearly, there are more creative uses.  The best part is that you don’t need any special equipment to make the beautiful garlands, flowers, and wreaths.

5 Free Things to Do in Orlando- I love finding free attractions when I travel (Check out my posts on free things to do in Birmingham, AL and Charleston, SC).  Orlando is over-run with over-priced attractions like Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studios, so it’s nice to know about some of the free parks and markets that can rejuvenate you after Mickey Mouse overload.
